Receivers for Futaba 4PLs

I need to know the differences in the FHSS Futaba receivers please.

The chart at the top of this page would be nice if it included surface receivers too!

http://www.futaba-rc.com/receivers/f...ss-compat.html

Even this page doesnt really show the differences, and there is a large difference in price!

The chart in the middle of that page has a cross line for the 4PLS. Look by T(for transmitter)4PLS.

That radio is not FASST, it is S-FHSS or T-FHSS.

Sorry, I meant to say FHSS

I understand that in the middle it says which ones are compatible, but what I dont understand is the different between the $35 ones and the $60 ones.

I see some are 3 chan, some are 4 chan, and obviously the telemetry one is more expensive, but all these work:

R603GF (3CH) $54.98
R2004GF (4CH) $47.99
R203GF (3CH) $37.99
R204GF-E (4CH) $37.99
R2104GF (4CH) $44.99
R2006GS (6CH) $29.99
R2106GF (6CH) $29.99
R2008SB (8CH) $49.98
R304SB (4CH) $59.99

These are all tower prices. Now, my 4pls will come with a r304sb.

I bought a R204gf-e on here used, I like that it doesnt have an antenna.

To convert my vehicles from my flysky setup Ill probably buy a batch of 4 receivers (tower offers quantity discount, plus coupon codes, plus free shipping gets em pretty cheap!)

But I dont know which to get! What makes the R603GF so expensive? What stops me from getting the R2006GS for $29.99 and just using 2 channels?

I cant find what the differences are between the receivers.

I exclusively bash, no racing

I drive an sc104x4, rc8te, rc8.2e, brushless MGT, etc

Please help!

The differences are only number of channels, size, number/types of antennas, telemetry and input voltage range. All will work just fine. The pricing is random and doesn't reflect any of that ironically.

There is nothing to stop you from getting the R2006GS except for it being a bit on the large side by modern receiver standards.

The GFE is a great receiver for racers - small, light and as noted, no antenna. However, it does lose a lot of the range for which Futaba's are legendary as it's only rated at 70 meters - kinda short for a 1/8th basher.

Thanks man, I laughed pretty hard when I read, "The pricing is random and doesn't reflect any of that ironically" because that's what it seemed like to me!

After looking at the cost of sensors, I doubt I will do telemetry, though it would be cool as hell.

What receiver do you recommend then?

Sounds like Ill use the gfe for my brushless MGT since it will be slower and used for crawling and mudding and playing in the snow.

My Rc8te is my go-to truck so that will get the telemetry receiver.

What do you suggest for the rest? my rc8.2e and Rc8te have HV servos in them, but Im not sure how high the MMM and the tekin rx8 can go.

I just want some damn receivers!

I would go with the "standard" R203GF for the others - HV receivers (and even servos) are for when running them direct off a lipo in a Nitro car. A standard BEC input via an ESC is 6.0v. You could save a few bucks with the 6-channel idea but in that case, two external antennas are overkill for a car and just get in the way and the other cheaper 6ch one is range limited for "indoor flying".

Thanks man! Thats what I wanted to know!

$125 shipped for 4 R203GF!

Thats like $31 each new :)

Will the r2104gf receivers work on the 4pls?

Yes, they just won't have the telemetry.
