questions about recievers
 

I just got a Airtronics MXV and a Futaba 3pl for my son and I to race with. I figure I will compare the two and go with higher end stuff later. When I look at receivers they say 3-channel or 4-channel. My question is when you look at a 3-channel it has 4 ports and a 4-channel has 5. Is there a reason for that and what does the B stand for?

Battery input. Primarily but not exclusively for nitro and gas models that need a receiver battery to power the receiver and servos.
