Problems with ESC/Throttle

I have a kind of complicated problem as this is my first time ever running an RC and setting up an ESC so sorry if this is a long text but I will try to explain everything.

So I recently bought myself an HPI E-Firestorm FLUX. I read the Manual step by step and followed the first parts of setting up the ESC as it was written in the Manual. This worked well as the LED lights were flashing etc in the correct color(s) stated in the Manual, but I think here is when the problem began since a few minutes later I realized that the Throttle and Brake/reverse had been switched (guessing this is the default Factory-setting).

After setting up the ESC I went outside to test the car and immediately I noticed that when I was pressing the Throttle it was going the other way, backwards, and when I was trying to reverse/brake it would instead Accelerate and throttle. This was fixed through changing the Channel 2 option on my TF-40 2.4GHz transmitter (the reverse switch or servo reverse option I think).
But a few seconds later I realized that this was only the first problem, since now when I would press down Full Throttle it wouldn't "kick off" (do a wheelie) or anything, it just slowly accelerated and after 1-2 seconds it would stop accelerating by itself as if the transmitter was turned off. After reading the Manual I figured this had to do with the Fail-Safe or something, but since if the Fail-Safe would work it would brake the car in a controlled way and this is not what it did since the car kept rolling forward, slowly. Once again I checked the Manual and there I found something called Auto-Lipo setting, which was ON in default unless you turned it off. I tried to turn it off by following the steps but kept failing since the ESC LED lights wasn't flashing in the color it should so I gave up on that. I figured I should of turned this Auto-Lipo off before I went outside to test the car so this might be the thing causing the problems.

I'm also having a problem with the Fail-Safe in general. Whenever I turn off the transmitter while the ESC and batteries are connected to the car, the Fail-Safe should make the car stop but this is not working. When I turn off the transmitter the car starts accelerating to Full Throttle (literally full throttle, but since I already have a problem preventing full throttle it doesn't damage the wheels etc since they're not spinning particularly fast) and I have to disconnect the battery or turn on the transmitter again to make the rear wheels stop.

I also tried to calibrate the transmitter with the receiver and followed the steps in the Manual with no success either so right now I really don't know what to do.
I am using a NiMH 4000mAh 8.4v battery which is completely new and charged, also the transmitter batteries are new.

I'm completely new with this hobby so I have no clue what the problem is caused by and how to fix it. I hope you guys can hopefully see the problem in this and help me. Maybe a reset of the ESC to default settings or something to restart the whole "Setting Up ESC" session would fix it? I don't have any castle usb link cable atm though.

I can provide images of the transmitter or the car/parts such as the ESC if necessary.

recalibrate your transmitter to you esc. when you reversed the channel on the radio you also reversed the esc/transmitters end points. your are gonna need the castle link to turn the lipo mode of since you are using nimh batteries. make sure the battery is fully charged (truck) sounds like you are hitting the low voltage cutoff too. most low voltage cut offs are set to around 6.8-7 volts. try your local hobby shop and see if they have a castle link you can use or if they can do it for you. for the time being, swap 2 of the motor wires and reverse the throttle channel again. that should get you back to driving again.
