Help 4s lipo charging problem

Just got a 4s lipo that came with a car I bought I tried balance charging it on my hitec x1 but the charger only detects 3 cells. I plugged in my cell meter and I'm getting.

Total 12.79
Difference 2.649
Cell1 3.825
Cell2 3.730
Cell3 1.274
Cell4 3.926

Is there any way to safely bring this back to life?

You can set the charger to nimh charge mode at the lowest amp setting, charge cell 3 until it's close to the others, then switch back to lipo charge mode and finish charging. You'll have to sit and monitor the whole process start to finish.

if a cell is off by that much there isn't really much you can do. charging in nimh mode will charge all cells, like it does to a nimh battery i would just recycle the battery.

now that i look at it the cells are off by quite a bit. 2/10 is quite a lot.

That's what I figured, thanks

you could try, but i think you would get an unwanted fire.

Yeah I'd rather not have that Lola's thinking maybe discharge which should only discharge the high cells but I'm not sure on that. Then do the nimh to get it back within range to register as lipo
