As for is it worth the change: If you haven't had any problems with the DX3R I wouldn't bother, but its well reported that some people using spektrum have had problems with brownouts and range issues using Spektrum gear.
The Futaba is of a better built quality when compared to the DX3r and the FAAST system and rx's have proven to be more reliable and relatively glitch-free (eg some Spektrum systems have known to go a bit haywire at the track if there is someone using Flysky GT3 systems, the flysky FHSS somehow can clash with spektrum's DSM).
But the Futaba is also a lot more expensive, with some features that you may not end up using anyway.
It would be a personal preference pick.

The current Spektrum lineup can't match the likes of Futaba or Sanwa, KO etc for quality, likewise they don't seem able to match the ergonomics either, but some people still like them, and they are cheap with cheap receivers, but when you want quality comfortable equipment you can't go past the likes of Futaba etc.

The one that it comes with. I wish they made a mini 2ch fasst receiver for 1/12th, but they don't. That being said, for sedan I use 4 terminals anyway (transponder, motor fan) so it comes in handy to have so many terminals.
The 4ch receiver is smaller than the older 3ch receiver.
