HELP choosing a servo for 1/10 buggy 4x4 ?

I just got my losi 22 2.0 and i was wondering which savox servo would be the best I was looking at the digital brushless high speed can someone help me out please ???

That's a powerful servo for a buggy. Go for high speed, reasonable torque. You could save some money.

Hitec 7955 or 7950

I'll take high torque over high speed every day of the week.

Can you tell me what's the meaning of high voltage or digital cause I will be using my spectrum dx3s radio on my buggy ????

Here is some good info that should get you started.

Anything around 130oz and less than .10 would work fine.

If you are already running Spektrum the 6040 is good.

I plan to put the Orion Vortex VDS2-HV 1605 in my 22 2.0

I believe high voltage is a reference to being tuned to current lipo 7.4v packs, although there is probably more to that.

If it is a high voltage servo it means it can operate at higher voltage. In a lightweight buggy anything relatively fast will be just fine

Lason 09-06-2013 06:57 PM

Like stated above, standard servos are rated to only work at 6v but high voltage servos are rated to work at 7.4v. Most ESC's built in BEC only put out 6V though but still not a bad idea to have IMO.

I run those in our 22Ts. They are fantastic.

So it's not over doing it ?

After you strip a couple cheap servos or find your RC pushing in corners due to lack of servo torque then you'll figure out there is no such thing as overdoing it. I'd rather have too much than not enough.

I also prefer to run the same model servo in all my stuff in case I need to swap them around to test or "borrow" one from another one of my cars at the track.

Define over doing it for your scenario, then I can tell you. What I can tell you now is that they are slightly heavier than a low profile servo (the people that I've seen run a low profile servo also add weight). Is it more powerful than you need??? Almost certainly. Is it faster than you need??? Almost certainly as well. Will you break it... Not a chance. All of this comes at a higher monetary cost though.

I agree on both counts.
