Turnigy/Flysky is the best value radio. Getting a used high-end radio is a good way to save $

Go in the for sale section and post a wtb ad, check out the airtronucs mt4, great radio for the price, if you like new stuff it isn't that high in price

No love for futaba? Huh well the 3pl and 4 pls are both great radios.

Please for the love of god, STOP recommending the flysky! It's garbage! Plain and simple!
I have one, and kno 4 ppl personally that have one, and see Many others with them, and they are very decent radios(as u have seen others talk about in your other thread dirky;) ) they may not be extremly well made, and tough enough to survive a serious drop, but other than that, I swear by mine!!!! Just my opinion! |
For the original poster, adding what you want to do with your car will help narrow down recommendations rather than people just shouting out their favorite brands.
For example, if you want to race, you're going to need to look at the Futaba/Airtronics stuff. If you want to go around your yard, the really cheap Chinese stuff may be Ok but if you're going near a track, the input lag will prevent you from ever becoming truly competitive. If this is for a rock crawler, you will need additional channels and so on. |

If it works for you and your friends that's fine, but I stand behind what I said! They're garbage!

I like my Futaba 3PM-X as my radio re-entering RC after a long hiatus.
I have discovered though that it gets expensive doing multiple vehicles because the receivers are expensive ($90). |

Yes, the 3PMX is a great radio for a one-car racer but after adding the 2nd and 3rd car, the initial cost difference to the 4PLS (by buying the non-telemetry receivers) is wiped out.
Someone posted a link on here in another thread that hobbyking has a generic FASST receiver http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=19626 but it's the same brand that people are bashing as being cheap so I'm just sticking with the futaba stuff. I figure when I'm adding a car to my stable what's another $100 on top of the $750 it'll cost me between kit and electronics. |

We bought a GT3B two years ago because the feedbacks were good...and it's garbage, worst feeling radio we have ever had The radio is THE most important item in rc and you should keep it for years If you can afford a new one I'd get a mt4 or 4pl, if you want a very good radio used...M11X. Still the best radio out there IMO |
