I would get a 24 volt powersupply if your going to charge two batteries at 2-3C each.

can anyone tell me where i can buy parts for my icharger 4010? i broke the little flat blue port peice on the front and need a new screen housing.....thank you... im in US

I'd be surprised if they sold individual parts for ichargers. However, if they did, http://www.progressiverc.com would probably be your best bet. Give them a call.

Depends on the battery cells - voltage (2S, 4S, etc). I don't see any mention of parallel operation in the Muchmore info so I would be leary of trying that to get 44 amps.

Using one 22A at maximum voltage it should be able to achieve around 15 amps each on a pair of 2S lipos. Half on 4S, etc. Perhaps a little less to not push the power supply to the max for a little headroom and better reliability.

Syndrome posted this in another thread, it shows the size difference between the 4010 and the 308

Any reviews on this charger?

Check the battery/charger forum on rcgroups.

Do I really have to weed out the 308 info from the 308/4010 thread or is there a thread that is off the first couple of pages dedicated to the 308 specifically?

Yes, start reading. That's what I did. ;)

Decided to take the plunge from a Radioshack PS and my old Duratrax ICE. Here's to hoping I like it. :)

Nice!

I have a similar setup but my PS is an Alinco 32A used for ham radios.

That description is misleading because it rates the PS at only 36A but it says you can charge 2x 2s packs both at 30A simultaneously which should be a 60A load on the PS which imeans there's 24A of phantom juice?

....made my own charging lead. I only charge 2s packs so I ditched the balance board.

The voltages are different, modern switch mode based chargers can change voltage fairly efficiently. Thus reduced current requirements with higher voltage supplies, within a charger’s input voltage limitation. The power supply is 17 volts, 2S is only 8.4V. In terms of power it’s enough (not much extra for headroom though).

Switch mode also allows the charger to handle batteries at a higher voltage than the supply, then more current would be required instead of less.

Older linear mode chargers did have that limitation, they only reduced voltage, required the same supply amps as the charge rate. Would get very hot with high supply voltages, couldn't charge higher voltage packs, etc.

Nice setup. Almost bought one of those Alincos once, looks like a sweet supply.
