Which radio to keep....EX-10 Helios or Futaba PLS

Which is a better radio as far as the technology goes & quality?

I have both and both are comfortable, just not sure which one to keep.

Ok first I have the older Ko Propo EX-10 Helios with the RF-901s module & KR-408s Rx. It's been a great radio for a long time.

Next up I have the Futaba 4 PLS system with the R304SB Receiver
I know the Futaba is a newer radio with newer technology but is it really any better?

Thanks for your time....

I vote futaba!;)

Do you need 4ch?

If not, the EX-10.

No need for 4 channel, I just run 2wd buggy.

Anyone know if either one uses different technology?
Does one have a bigger advantage on the technology side?

The EX-10 is an oldy but a goody & the PLS in new.....

Helios was a top dawg back then. The 4PL is a bit newer so I'd keep the Futaba too.

Thanks I am kind of leaning towards the new Futaba PLS.

Thanks for the reply....

From a radio channel allocation perspective, and technology ability to avoid interference you're looking at:

AM < FM < PCM < DSM < DSM2 < FHSS < S-FHSS < FAAST

Being that the technology used in both radios you've outlined (assuming the EX10 has the Ko Propo 2.4 module), then both are S-FHSS and technologically similar. If the EX-10 is the FM version then there's no question.

The EX10 though has a slower CPU, but unless you've been able to notice it I wouldn't count that against it. The lag probably isn't perceptible.

Lengthy technical article if you are inclined: http://www.rcmodelreviews.com/spreadspectrum01.shtml

Yes, it's the 2.4 ghz with the KO Propo RF-901s module.

Thanks for the article...

I now have two Futabas and I just love the feel of them in my hands. Plus newer is always better right? ALWAYS. Zero exceptions. Ever.

/sarcasm

But I'd still say keep the Futaba.

Why not keep both, have one as backup?
