question about ESC

Hi,

I'm sorry if this gets asked a lot but i'm not quite sure what esc to get for my car and i need some help.

What determines what esc i should get?

I know i haved a brushed motor so i can only use a brushed esc but thats pretty much all i know, i am very new to this.

Thanks.

Not necessarily true. castles sidewinder esc's do brushed and brushless motors. These have been some of the best esc's I've ran. Very smooth and Lipo ready.

The Novak Havoc Sport does both brushed and sensored brushless. It's no longer made, but is widely available used.

The battery you use will also influence your decision. Most ESCs run on 2s, but require a separate receiver battery or voltage booster for 1s.

The ESC provides throttle control for the motor. In some cases including reverse capability. Provides the same function for a brushed, sensored brushless, or non-sensored brushless motor, just need an ESC with appropriate capability as is being discussed.

Rather than buying a brushed ready esc, why not buy a brushless combo and never look back. Lots of options out there for reasonable prices.
