a good power supply?
Hyperion-EOS-720i-Net3 I charge 2s to 6s 5000mah lipos. Thanks.

The little trakpower supply that comes with vr-1 combo would work pretty good, it will do 20 amps, I am currently using one with my icharger and it works fine, or for a decent amount cheaper you could use a computer power supply
|
If I was to get a power supply to large could it mess up the charger? Thanks for the info by the way.

No, it won't mess up charger. A power supply could be capable of 2000 watts but if your charger only demands 150 watts your power supply wouldn't even know. Potential for damage could be the voltage, looks like that charger has an input requirement of 10.5-29 volts DC, so as long as your power supply provides that your good.

I got the 12V 47A version. works like a charm. |
A 0720i Net3 and not a Net3-AD right? Meaning the DC only one?
What charge rate (amps) on the 6S and other larger lipos are you looking for? If you want to get full power, which would be around 10 amps on a 6S, you need a power supply of over 14.5 volts, ideally with at least 340 watts of power. A 12V supply won’t allow the charger to achieve full power, perhaps around 8 amps on a 6S though. Here is one possibility, seems to be reliable and is about as light and small as I have found in this power range. Just remember while the slightly higher voltage works well with that charger it may not work for other stuff designed for the more common 12-13.8V supplies. JUNSI P350 POWER SUPPLY |

http://www.progressiverc.com/iota-dl...er-supply.html http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...y-27V-20A-550W dont fall for 30 amp or 40 amp power supplies with that charger it adds price to the psu and the charger wont use it (unless you want expansion in the future for a bigger charger) |
Picking of on the "good power supply" theme;
I am charging 2 1/10 2C powered cars at the same time on a dual charger, and the 350W power supply I use is just huge, and I figure I could go down to 200W roughly.. So, anyone knows about a compact 200w-ish quiet power supply...? |
nitrorcthunder.com has a very nice 30amp w/adjustable voltage output. 3 terminals. Sell for $65 w/free shipping. Got 2 and love'm both! :nod:

I got one off a guy here on rctech for $50. 69amp 875watt converted server PSU. A little loud, but I most certainly do not lack for amperage or wattage.

I use the Protek super pro 1000 and the Protek 620 prodigy. I can charge two lipos at 20amps each. I looked into the computer ps's and didn't like the mess, I wanted something cleaner. Been great for over a year now.http://i769.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb273f538.jpg

+1 on the Protek. I have the smaller one and was powering my LRP Competition Touch, plus two AC6 chargers with zero issue. Have also let a friend use it with his fancy dancy hyperion while I was using my LRP charger. No problems, and it's 3 years old.
