Looking for a dual output BEC
I am looking for a dual output BEC. I would like to be able to power seperate components at different voltages. One voltage for the receiver and another for a cooling fan. Does anything like this exist?

most guys just wire the fan to the battery plugs if they want it to have more voltage
or you could buy a seperate external BEC, Castle, Orion and Novak make them |
I have a bec / voltage regulator for 2S that splits the input into a 6v output and a direct output (so 7.4 nominal). I got it on ebay a year ago, I think it was around $15 from china...
Sorry, can't find a brandname, I thought it was Much More Racing or Yeah Racing but I can't find anything of those 2 brands online that looks like mine.. |
Going by the OP’s signature I’m guessing he might be starting with 4S voltage or more. A little off subject, but if you can’t find a dual output BEC, fans are fairly low power. Might be able to just use an appropriate resistor for the fan?

I am using 6S Lipo's. My fan is rated for 5-6V. I am going to run the servo and receiver at 7.4v.
I thought about running a resistor across the fan but wouldn't know what size to get. |
A link or more information on the fan? If we had a power or amperage rating to work with we should be able to come up with a resistor. Also would you like to power the fan off of the BEC? I think that would be the way to go, more stable voltage, and less voltage drop and power loss for the resistor to deal with.

You can make one for pretty dang cheap if you were up for it, I believe there are some how to's out there
