I picked up one of these little chargers, and it has been great. Its charging times are fantastic. Its uses a really small footprint on my pit area, which is awesome. The fan is not as loud as my old charger, and it hits the 8.4V limit consistently. I have not tried the phone charger yet, but I have used it to charge Lipo, Life, and NiMH batteries. Overall I am really pleased with it. I would definitely buy it again.

Can I run a 12v engine heater off the side port?

Nolan, you know if there is any plan to add features to the charger via firmware update like doing IR testing?

I don't think the x2 has it. I had the ACDC and was never able to get the race mode to charge at high amperage. It asks you to put in the capacity of the pack, but thats what it ended up charging at for me (7000mah=7amp). I asked elangears and they said the pack probably didn't start at a low enough voltage. I ended up just charging at straight 15 amps and it worked fine. It was slow as hell to finish, but was still a great charger.

I don't know the answer, but I do know that the firmware on the R X2 is fixed, there is no updating it (according to the folks at Elangears themselves) So I would guess most of them are the same as they day they were MFGd.

I just finally got my Blacked out edition Rx2 and it's easily the best charger I've ever used. it is compact and charges really fast. It can also power another charger if you so needed to charge multiple packs. Really slick design and really powerful and robust. Joysticks are also robust and easy to use.

I'm currently looking at the dual X2 to replace my current Orion charger. Regarding the side output - is it really only 10amps? Even when not using the charger outputs? I was hoping to run a tire sander from it so I didn't need to bring a second psu. Can anyone clarify?
