You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this topic. Here is a post from a thread a while back with some links in it to help you with your search.

Hacker brushless 17.5 motor. Aero-model.com is the carrier for Hacker since Hacker products are made in Germany.

d3.5

or the new killshots.

either way, proper gearing and driving skill means more.

Why the fastest? I watch guys win 17.5 class win with the "slower motors" regularly. The fastest motor wont make you faster unless you have plateaued with a "slower motor". I like the Reedy Sonic which is in my sons stock buggy now but my lap times were the same with the Novak Ballistic which is supposed to be a bit slower. Maybe a better battery(or new) or different ESC designed for Spec class racing is what will help you more.

How come every thread I go on when somebody is asking what the fastest stock motor is to help them when they are already consistent, and I find responses like yours? The question wasn't what is the slowest, it was "What is the fastest 17.5 blinky motor."

I have done a ton of testing on a lot of motors. The Team Powers Plutonium has been the fastest, coolest and most consistent of all motors I have run. All three things considered, to me, there is not another motor on the market that is better. I have tested the Killshot, SpeedPassion MMM, Speedpassion 3.0, Revtech(original), Thunder power and other. The best thing out them is, the motor is best in its stock form(stock rotor), nothing else is needed.

There is no definitive answer to questions like this, which are somewhat pointless in nature. Someone that can't drive a manual transmission would usually be faster with a Kia with an automatic than a sports car with a stick. There are far too many variables involved to give a universal answer - and for the most part the people that ask these questions would usually benefit more from practice, more practice, and more practice more than switching brands or buying any specific brand. Quality questions.. sure, durability questions... yep. Fastest though? Meh.

I found the Schurr Speed, Trinity D3.5 and Novak Ballistic to be the slowest in Blinky, Revtech motor performs well.

rramjet 05-27-2013 12:19 AM

Saw a dramatic improvement in straight away speed when I changed from a Novak Ballistic 21.5 to a Hacker in my 416X. Don't know if the this is the fastest motor though. I think the Revtech has one of the highest KV ratings in 21.5.

68sportcoup 05-27-2013 07:22 AM

there other ways to go fast also lighter rotating mass
these guys spend big bucks on light weight everything witch in turns lets
the car go faster with the same motor driving skill is most important.
or just go mod open then everyone has more motor then they can use
and again skill and practice is most important.
good luck

Agreed. Most people who ask "what's the fastest" or "what's the best" aren't ready for either, and are simply trying to make up for their shortcomings elsewhere.

Rare is the "what is the best way to learn to drive" thread...

Just trying to help a bit more than the actual question. You dont have to get your panties in a bunch. People like you are the reason others like me avoid forums. You can keep your king complex.

Thank you LasagnaCat and duuuuuuuude for seeing past the outline of the box.

Inside the box is the most entertaining place to look.
