I just installed the RF-170 with 7.5 in my RT6 and so far love it. Havent been able to run on track cause of the weather but little tests have gave me good feelings. :)

Anybody running the RF-150-8 1/8th ESC? Any feedback? Good? Bad?

I've been running it since last August/September, although had the winter off. I run all tekin RX8's and these ESC's, and with minor adjustments, there is no difference. The SMC is smoother out of the box.

I wouldn't hesitate to grab a couple more. In fact, I'm going to.

Just installed an rf-170 and 8.5t in my sc5m. It almost has too much power! must have hit 50mph on a 50ft straight.

On the SMC 1900kv motor what size washer that goes behind the bigger bearing inside my is bent and I have to change the bearings ?

And I noticed the bearings are labeled as brushless motor bearings ?

So I cant use ones that go into the drivetrain ?

I would contact Danny. Believe he carries the bearings.

And I believe that is a crush washer, which should be wavy.

Anyone running the 8.5 on a b5m? If so what gearing are you using. I put in a 81 spur with a 22 pinion but no track time yet. in the yard it Dont seem to have much kick to it

Nevermind on the punch I figured it out. It was set to 5 turned it up to 7 and it definitely woke it up. Still curious what everyone is doing gear wise

So got a some track time for the first time with the 170 and 8.5 on a 81 spur and 22 pinion. Coming from a 17.5 trackstar with a justock hw esc. To be honest there wasn't that much of a difference it top speed or acceleration. Really disappointed thus far. Motor timing is still at factory settings at 20. Turned punch up to 7. Couldn't up the any more cause the track was dry and very dusty. Slick. Didn't have my temp gun but could put my thumb on motor for 8 seconds. Really looking to get a lot more acceleration and at least a little more too end. Any recommendations?

Not gonna get much acceleration on a dusty track.

JConcepts Splitters are good for dry, dusty Tracks.

Thanks for the input. I recently did a dif rebuild so I checked that and noticed my slipper was really loose. I tightened that up and as far as on carpet in my house I can not keep front tires on the ground. Not sure how much that woulda been slipping on loose dry dirt. I do have some splitters I haven't tried yet. Running double d's right now. Thanks guys.

I'm also running the 8.5. I turned end bell timing from 20° to 30°, and it woke it up a bit for sure. Never thought to look at punch control. Barely faster than a 13.5t down the straights, so I know i'm off someplace. I'll look at punch before next race.

My esc was set at 5. I turned it up to 7. Made a big difference. But still not near enough punch. My slipper was loose when I tested at track. Hopefully that helps. If u figure out how to wake it up please let me know. And I'll be racing Fri night Long as it don't rain so I'll keep u posted if I figure out how to wake it up...
