Does this esc come with servo tape? If not what kind should i get 1/8 offroad.

We have to consider ROAR approvals on each new version of software for esc's used in spec racing. We were hoping to get everything all wrapped up for a final version that would get ROAR approval by now for all the controllers.

Since that has not happened yet we do need to release 258 to the public for the Rx8 units because it has proven to be very good stuff ;)

Thanks for the reminder and we will get it posted shortly...

None of the RX8's I bought came w/tape, I use 3M VHB. I clean both surfaces w/rubbing alcohol even if they're new.

I want to fallow up on the issue I had with the esc not coming back on after updating to v255 and to thank yzracer758 for his help. It did turn out that I had the fan plugged in the wrong way which made the esc seem dead after the update. Reversed the fan plug and all's well. Must of not paid attention when I put it back in.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I'm a big fan of Tekin, just eager to get my hands on the good stuff. :D

I'll keep refreshing the hotwire page.

Thanks again.

Esc was acting funny this past weekend. It started after landing a double. Basically it would shutdown and restart. Anytime I pressed the throttle or brake, it would shutdown and restart. No error codes. I turned it off and back on via the switch and it was good to go after that. Do I need to send it in or keep running it?

Go over all the wiring, including the cooling fan wires. I've seen plenty of fans shorting out on the heat sink causing that very condition.

Will do. Probably will rewire it.

Went thru and wiggle every wire (including the fan wires) several times and couldn't duplicate the situation or cause any kind of disruption.

Ok, good. Don't discount the battery as an issue either. I've seen the internal connections cause this as well

Best thing is to clear the data logs out of the ESC and run the car. If it fails, you'll have a recording you can email me or to support and we can help diagnose the failure or issue.

Will do. Thanks Randy.

I've searched, but cant find the size of the case screws, & what specific phillips to use? I used a bn Arrowmax 2mm, but it wasn't a perfect fit.

Went thru a practice session on Monday making it thru at least all three batteries without a hitch. I'll chalk this one up as a fluke until it happens again.
