I have the GT3C and have it binded to all 10 cars that it allows (not modded) and they all work flawlessly. So it's either your receiver or your servo. Put that servo in the known working receiver. If it works, than that other receiver is bad. Or plug a known working servo in the questionable receiver and see if if it's the servo. Should be easy to diagnose. I doubt it's the radio causing this though. Recievers being as cheap as they are ($7), I expected at least one or two to be bad. So far they have all been great! |

I plugged the servo into mu reciever and then realized it was backwards. The radio system works correctly now.

My GT3C is having an issue binding with new rxs. I get a slow blinking light on the rx when I power it up. It binded really easily with the one that came with it, but not so much with 2 flysky rxs I just got.
I power up the rx through the esc, hold the bind button on the tx and power on the tx, then let go of the bind button after like 10 seconds...light on rx continues the slow blinking. Any suggestions? |

Are you doing all of these steps in order? 1) Turn off Rx and Tx 2) Plug in Bind Cable on Rx 3) Turn on Rx (verify Rx light is blinking) 4) Hold Bind button on Tx then turn on Tx 5) Release bind button when Rx stops flashing ( this should be immediate) 6) Turn off Rx, unplug bind cable 7) Reset Tx, then turn on Rx and all should be golden |
Yes...doing exactly those steps. The original rx bound right away with no issues. But the 2 new ones do not. The light in the rx only does the slow blink...from when it gets power and through the bind process.
|
It's possible that you got a bad batch of Rx's maybe?
Do you have a friend who has a FS you can try to bind those Rx's with to confirm they are bad? Otherwise I would try to return/ exchange them... pretty sure you're gonna have to pay for return shipping :( How old is your Tx? I've owned about 6 different FS radios over the years and some of them are hit or miss for me. Usually after about 6 months to a year they start to get glitchy and then I experience range issues. After buying 2 additional radios each time and repeating the process over a 3 year period, I've stopped buying any more FS radios. I used to use them for club level racing but now they are exclusively for pure bashing... the ones with range issues are only used in my crawlers now ;) |
Got one to bind...one to go. Did not do anything different. Guess it was just being stubborn!

I believe the black is the latest run of the gt3c. Only the first run of orange ones had the issue.

If you find the STM8S Discovery Kit a bit annoying, you can buy this ST-LINK V2 programmer for less then six bucks. Just tested it and it works great. The setting for this programmer in the ST Visual Programmer is the same as for the Discovery Kit one.

I just figured I give an update on my radio since I was able to race with it twice now. The radio is great. I ended up actually winning the stock sct main with the radio. And I also just got an old pan car which was just horrible at first. Then once I set up the expos and trims on the radio its like the car is on rails. I noticed that one of the most successful and knowledgeable guys at my track is running a gt3b. I let that guy try out the radio with my car and he said he like the gt3c better than his gt3b.

help please:
Hi guys, I just did my first bind on a GT3C tx/GR3E rx 1/8 buggy, using the same steps as outlined above, forward is good, but reverse takes several trigger pushes to get a response, and then because I'm pushing the trigger repeatedly it can be at maximum reverse when it does engage, not good.
Then after it's engaged once it seems to work normally for a while, I can roll it back & forth with just a touch, but after going forward a while, reverse has to be 'coaxed' again. edit: I also notice that releasing the trigger from reverse to neutral, reverse trys to re-engage, succeeding half the time in instigating a 'slow' reverse, trigger at neutral as I said. very new to rc here, any assistance would be appreciated. |
try re-calibrating your ESC
also try adjusting the ESC settings so that it only provides 50% power in reverse. some ESC's require a 1-2 sec delay before reverse can be initiated, this is to protect your car from inadvertently slamming into reverse when you may only want to feather the brake with successive brake pumping when racing through tight chicanes. |
Hi at all,
i'm new to this forum but i see a lot of interesting threads about interesting things for my hobby... ehm... hobbies :D I want to (re)start with rc cars and have bought a GT3C four days ago. I've opened the radio and tried to flash the psx 0.61 fw with a ST-LINK V2 from ebay (that one sold in a variety of colours in a form as usb pendrive). I'm not new in programming microcontrollers but new to the ST's... The flash end successfully, and the first time after flashing turning on the radio it work correctly. If I press the power button to off and then to on the radio enter in a rapid bootloop. and next times i remain in bootloop. The lcd backlight flashes, the buzzer start to make rapid beeps, and i cannot operate on buttons. I have to says also that i power the radio with external usb cord because i haven't yet received the batteries from Honk Kong. If I change power source the things don't change. I have tried to flash the original fw and all work correctly. But I want psx fw! Owner's of modded GT3C you can try to power up radio with usb cord without batteries and see what you get from that? Thanks in advance! Sorry for my english. Sergio from Italy |
FlySky
Where is the best place to order this radio? Nitro RCX only lists the B model. Thanks

Colors?
So is it black and orange that still have this issue? Do you have any say in which color you receive or is it luck of the draw?

Hello forum. I just ordered a silver version of the C and it will be here today. I have a couple questions. First, what kind of battery life are you getting with the 800mah battery? Im coming from a Turnigy GTX3 that uses 8AA's. And Ive seen some other battery options for the C, the FS-B1200, and FS-B1300. The 1200 is the only one I could find for sale. Has anyone felt it necessary to upgrade the battery? Thanks

Hi All I am in the process of Modding my GT3C, and have been looking at a couple of options, and would appreciate any feed back from modded owners.
option 1 is the widely publicised overkillrc kit from here. overkillrc.3dcartstores(dot)com/GT3C-Firmware-Flashing-Kit_p_13(dot)html option 2 is this little unit from here rctech(dot)net/forum/13086799-post102(dot)html (sorry cant post links) what I am curious about is if the "Functionality" of the modded controller is the same using either of these options. Regards Wayne |

Regards Wayne I don't feel that it's worth the effort for the conversion, you end up sacrificing functionality from all the short cut buttons in order to gain features elsewhere. (Robbing Peter to pay Paul)... I decided to back to the original firmware. For the money, I was much happier after I bought a RadioLink RC3S instead |
I have an orange FS GT3C from rcmart it seems to be a second revision no problems so far.

Hi all,
I have the silver version and I have been using it for some time now, maybe three months and I'm really impressed with it considering the price. It hasn't had any problems. The one thing I don't like is the soft foam steering wheel grip. It moves around and seems to be getting a bit loose. Has anyone replaced this? and if so, what with? Ryan |
One of the few features that I like about my 3C is the soft foam grip. In fact I've bought several replacement grips from Integy that are soft to replace some of the firm grips on other radios I own. I'll be happy to send you a firm grip that is brand new, it came off my 3XS radio and is a direct fit with the 3C. I'll ship it to you for $5 if you're interested.
If you're only concerned with the grip rotating on the wheel, then simply apply a small drop of "Amazing Goop" glue, which is equivalent to "E6000" or "Shoe Goo". |
flysky radio problem....help
I was checking and resetting the end points for the steering ,did the left lock when changing to set the right lock suddenly the wheels started spinning and the light on the receiver fades as the wheels stop for a second and start spinning again. I can steer right and the wheels spin like I pulled the trigger. I reset the esc and it is still happening, has anyone got any ideas on what might be going wrong? thanks for any help.

Also could be the Rx losing its bind... I've had Rx's lose their bind as often as once a week, then the problem went away after I replaced the Rx with a new one. Are your batteries freshly charged? Even without the LVA going off, I've experienced severe range issues simply because of the battery not being fully charged. I've tested several Fly Sky radios with a spectrometer and the signals coming from Fly Sky are less than half as powerful as the signals from just about every other brand of radio that I tested. Here is a sample graph of 3 different brands of radios turned on at the same time: FlySky = small intermittent spikes at -50 across the band from 2.40 to 2.47 3XS = tall thin spikes above -30 from 2.40 to 2.45 RadioPost = large mound between 2.42 to 2.44 https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7421/...5dc0e0d5_b.jpg |
I've got the same problems, suddenly my car would punch forward for a half second or less. And some random braking while running.
Got this on all three cars. It's very weird cause I just upgraded from a GT3B to a GT3C, and I've never experienced these issues with my GT3B. Same cars, same setup, only a new radio (GT3C). I've also hooked up a 3ch reciver to a servo and a motor to do some bechtesting, I couldn't provoke the glitches. Very curious to what it is. It's also strange that when I tested my car inside and just let it sit there, no glitches. Could it be the two other guys I was driving with caused interference? They both uses GT3B radios. They never got glitches. |
I encountered a problem I never seen before with the flysky 2.4 I always run my cars alone and never had a problem...But I got a flysky radio and a buggy kit for my nephew to build so we can run our cars together and funny thing with some of my cars with the flysky system when we run together some glitch I don't get why the same brand 2.4 cant run together and it supposed to be a hopping system but I think that flysky is full of it and it's not because it never gets on a new channel because the whole time we run I always get glitches?
anyone else ever encounter this? |
yes, simply exchange the radio for another one... some FlySky's use the same hopping pattern that is just close enough to cause interference, this is because they use "Direct" sequencing which means that the set of frequencies are fixed.
If you switch over to a different system that uses FHSS, then the radio will scan for unused frequencies to eliminate the glitches. It's rare for 2 Fly Sky's to use the same range of frequencies, just consider yourself an unlucky winner of the FlySky lottery, ha! When I used to race FlySky a couple years ago, I'd occasionally run into interference from time to time from other radios.... all my woes went away when I stopped racing with Fly Sky ;) |

I will just keep my nephews flysky radio for a emergency radio...I just got today a cheap HPI system for him to use in his car it is hopping so maybe now my cars won't glitch! LOL!! THANKS |
FlySky GT3C Receiver Problem
I am having a strange problem and have not been able to find anything on the web to fix it. I have a GT3C with 2 receivers and am using one with a B4.1 buggy and the other one with VRC. I can't get the throttle to work on either receiver with any model except for model no 0. The B4.1 works great (set to model 0) and I can use the second receiver on that model and it works fine. As soon as I change the radio to model 1 thru 9, the throttle will not register on either receiver.
Anyone have any idea what is going on? I have re-bound the second receiver multiple times and made sure that the radio is set to Model 1 when I bind. As I stated, the steering works fine on both receivers for any model number, just not the throttle. I have also reset all of the model memories in the radio and started over and that didn't work either. Help please! |
