Default motor pinion sliiping

Hi, iv had a super hotshot since Jan, upgraded to a basic ESC with a 14t motor and it was spot on.......... decided wanted a faster car still so bought a 2nd hand cirtix inspire 2.0 brushless with a sport tuined 9.5t brushless motor but it seems to slip in the gearbox until about half throttle and then catches and buggers off up the road ??!! why is it slipping ?? help please

Have you readjusted the slipper clutch? That motor is making so much more power than the other, that the clutch is slipping and must be adjusted.

Whats the slipper clutch mate ?? sorry im totaly lost on that ?? sounds so stupid but where is the clutch ?? thanks,

just googled it and now i know, thanks, my geatbox s etc are just standard plastic gearing so im guessing i need tp upgrade in order for the motor to work properly ?? any ideas on what to purchase for a 2012 super hotshot at all ?? thanks,

hi chris..after looking up ur buggy ..I dont see slipper on that trans.. the only thing i can see is the way the diff is built with that motor 9.5 it will just spin as u said -cause to much rpm for that trans..not sure u can do much ..might try a Metal gears in trans..but that might not work..due to 3 little gears in main drive gear..

Looks like direct drive 4wd. That BL setup is likely trashing your diff.

Make sure the pinion is locked down on the motor shaft. The grub screw should be contacting the flat that's ground onto the shaft.

Other then that, start by taking apart your rear diff and making sure nothing's stripped.

Well excuuuse me!!! The last time iv'e seen a direct drive was on a $25 toy store r/c car.
