Can a MMP run a Tekin Pro4?

Can a Mamba Max Pro run a Tekin Pro4 4600 in my new Losi ten-scte 2.0? Or should I stick with a RX8? Just looking to save some weight.

I've got both ad well. Go with the rx8. Tekin all the way.

What weight you save will be added back by needing an external BEC

Devigili22 04-02-2013 09:15 PM

Yes it can.

I first tried a MMP in my SCT410 with a PRO4 4000kv and it didn't feel like it had enough power. I swapped it for an RX8 which helped.

i been running an mmp and a pro4 4600 for 4 months without problems and without an external bec
in a 1.0 scte.

Why would you need an external BEC? I've never had an issue. I've noticed a ton of people on this forum have very strong opinions based on no facts what so ever. Usually younger people that read more forum BS than actually understanding it.

I've been using the MMP for years with all sorts of motors including the Tekin pro 4's and never had a problem, never used an external bec. Just use a Castle link and turn the voltage up if you're having any lack of servo power.

The max amp manual says 4.5 550 limit. Should be good to go. I am using a 5 turn with mine and no problem, it is 4120 kv. All that being said this is a 70 amp system using 13 gauge wires.

ballnM3 04-20-2013 09:39 PM

I think using a bec usually involves a servo?

WindDrake 04-21-2013 09:29 AM

Re; The MMP comments. The MMP and MMM have notoriously weak internal BEC's. This is where the External BEC comments come from.

Same combo, same car , no problems and plenty of power......no BEC needed either

Brandonmorris44 05-06-2013 03:51 PM

I used a pro 4 4000kvon a mmp for a short time while my rx8 was being repaired the mmp made "due" but the rx8 is hand down better smoother more reliable everything

Pulse_ 05-09-2013 12:02 AM

I disagree on this. The Rx8 isn't smoother I have both of them with a T8 motor on two 1/8 buggies and the MMP is smoother for a simple reason: it draws less amps. Notice I use an external BEC with both of them.
