Need Help! M12 vs. 4PKS-R
I'll be the market soon for a new radio. I'm currently using an M11 great radio just really outdated now. So I'm looking for advice I've never used the M12 or 4Pksr and honestly I don't know anyone with an M12. Any help or comments good or bad appreciated. Thx:D

I have always had Airtronics...CX2p, 3PS, M8, M11, M11X and now an M12. There was one point when i first got started that i had one of Futaba's higher end radios that i bought as a package deal with a car. I love my M12...I put the drop down on right away. Compared to my M11x it feels similar in my hand, i like how it comes with 3 grips, 2 wheels plus the different throttle/steering springs. It is a great radio, you wont be dissapointed.

Thx man, what about ease of use as far as navigating though the menus and changing settings and so on? and what about a battery pack for it I don't see anyone selling it so are you still using AA batteries?

I use this battery in mine: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ck-74V-2800mAh |
Thx again I didnt think about using MT-4 battery. I'm really leaning towards the M12 more so because I can use my current receivers as well and dont have to buy more receivers right away.

The Protek box is nice! I got it for my 4pksr.
Either way you cant go wrong. But don't the Airtronics rx's work with all the radios? |
Keep the comments comin' guys! I too am going back and forth between the M-12 and the 4PKS-R in a switch from Spektrum. I'll be needing all new receivers regardless of choice so your help and/or experiences are greatly appreciated. I don't really need any of the crawling features but if the other aspects of the radios lead one over the other, that would push me into the wiser decision.
Thanks, Jim |
Get the M12 and don't look back. You would be very happy with it.

Ya I think that's the plan at this point. I've already got 3 receivers for the M11 so at least I'll some brasher receivers. Besides I haven't seen a single Futaba guy chime yet.:D

hi i had the m12 and i sold it and bought the futaba 4pk super R. i think the sanwa was to heavy and i did not like the menu. futaba is for me way better!

I have the 4PKS and love it. I gave my son my 3PKS so I needed to think receiver compatibily for 12 cars..... That and the fact that Futaba has always made great radios over the years made me stick with Futaba. I still use a 3PB PCM radio when we bring a friend and it still works perfectly despite being 22 years old ! If you buy a 4PK-R you won't be sorry it's a great radio.
You won't regret the M12 either, I had a M8 and it was the best radio out at the time in my opinion. My first radio was a XL2P, which also still worked fine after all those years until it was stolen. Probably still works, Sanwa also makes a great product. I would only spend my hard earned money on a Futaba or Airtronics system so for me it would be a tough choice if I had no compatible RX. Switching brands with a number of RX to replace is an expensive proposition. |
Get the futaba. I head nothing but issues with my m12. Right now it's a $600 paperweight.

4pks-r more comfortable, lighter and more user friendly!!!
