motor cogging issues
im running a castle sidewinder (original) and a 1/10 velenion 3500 motor in my 1/16 slash. yes its absolutly insane, but its a lot of fun. anyways, to the point, im having problems with cogging. on one stock traxxas battery (1200mah) it would stutter real bad from a stop at hard throttle, sometimes not even hardley move. if rapidly pulled and l;et of the trigger it would get out of the dead spot, take off and go. i figured i had battery issues so im now running 2 in parallel, the problem changed completely. now from a dead stop it takes off like a bat outa hell, however when im slowly rolling and hit the throttle it stutters and comes to a stop. if im rolling and feather the throttle itll pick up and go. i thought again batteries may be the issue, however i tied a 4200mah 2s lipo to it with no change whatsoever.
right now ive got the esc set up to save the drivetrain as much as possible. ive got punch control at 50%, timing at 0 and reverse power at 50%. i havent gone through the process for the torque limiting settings. i have tried changing gearing with no change.
anyone have any advise? in 13 years in the hobby this is the first time ive had a brushless setup (had the sidewinder in a crawler for 5 years). i know a sensorless brushless setup will always have some cogging, however this seems excessive. had a chance to run a friends 1/10 slash with complete velenion system and its nowhere near what mine is like for cogging.
