i cut my wires and soldered them together as i didnt want to mess with the board. if yours is working fine i wouldnt worry unless you are worried you screwed with the possibility of warranty issues ?

in that case i do not know.

Should be fine.
Castle uses cheap switches and often the failure is the crappy solder job. Ive had two fail, one just from the junk swicth and the other was the solder job. Pulled the outer case, slid back the heat sink and the wire ws soldered in a loop around the contact but not to the contact. First order of business for me became to remove the cheap switches and replace them with a quality switch.

A lot run without the switch but I prefer to be able to turn the ESC on/off in a quick manner if needed.
