How much cooling will I need?
Hello,
I will be running a Xray T4 with a Tekin RS PRO and Tekin Redline Gen 2 13,5 motor in a calss that allows timing and boost. Temperature is during winter a bout 5 - 15 C (41 - 59 F) and in summer 28 - 38 C (82 - 100 F) and normally humidity is 60-80% here in Shanghai. The longest heats we will run is 8 minutes in some races. What sizes and placements for fans and heat sink will I need for this? Do I need the same both summer and winter? Last time I was running touring was in the early 2000s with brushed systems and NiMh so I have some catching up to do on a few points, so thank you in advance for the help!! |
sorry i dont know the answer to that.

Recommend using a fan on the motor during winter and summer, which will result in less heat buildup and provide more power throughout the 8 min race. The RS Pro will easily stay within safe operating temps. Depending on chassis/electronics layout, you'll be able to decide where you want to place your motor fan by either mouning to the chassis or using a fan mount. I currently run mine behind the motor on the chassis. Hope this is helpful.

I will go with a heat sink with mounted fan I think, looks good for maintenance. Thank you again! |
