Is a 25c 5000mah going to be enough?

Hey guys. So I'm in the market for more lipos and have been debating on whether I should get a 2s 5000mah 30c zippy hardcase, or a 2s 5000mah 25c gforce hardcase from valuehobby. Now, I can get 3 of the gforces for the price of about 2 zippys. What I plan on doing with my cars is bashing and running on the track...no racing just yet. So would a 25c work fine for what I want to do, or will it not produce enough power? I'm not going to be using insane brushless setups either. Also, a future car I'm going to be getting will be 4wd...not sure if that will affect it in any way?

Most 4wd buggies take a saddle pack lipo...

I think you should be fine with your choices. I'm currently running Orion r8 w/ 13.5 combo and a 30c Gens ace 3s lipo for my axial wraith. Both esc and motor never reached over 105f.

Not enough juice if you plan on racing a 4x4. You can do some simple math to see what amp rate lipo would work for your particular application. Basically, if your motor wants amps that the battery can't deliver, it will start to fry.

No neither of those 2 batteries listed will do the job.. I have tried and tested both ..They do not supply amps as listed.. Go with another brand..either SMC-Gens Ace-or Sky Lipos.. either of those batterys will do the job without breaking ur bank..the 3 i listed can be puirchased for under $55 each shipped to ur door from inside USA

not all 4wd buggys take saddle packs where do these dummies come up with this stuff.?
Kyosho zx-5 No saddles-- xxx4 no saddles.. schumacher can be either way..

The 25c will give off 125A max and the 30c will give 150A max....at the moment, my 2wd brushless buggy that has a 3200kv motor, and the 4wd monster truck i plan on getting is brushless and has a 3570kv motor. Both are 540 size and are hobbywing/ezrun setups. Is it possible to find the better battery using this information?

Your buggy will be fine, for the truck, does the motor in question list an amp draw spec?

Fixed your post for ya...;)

I do not believe there is a currently produced and competitive 4w buggy that doesn't require saddles.

That's OT for this thread anyway. I do agree that just buying something from SMC is the the way to go. For the orginal poster, the worst pack on this site will be better than anything else you've looked at so far and unlike the Chinese un-brands, they will meet spec or won't be sold as such and your risk of having one arrive DOA is immeasurable as opposed to "quite possible."

Hmm...nope it doesn't seem to list an amp draw spec. I think I will instead buy 1 more lipo for a total of two and then just parallel charge them. The one I have now is a 6000mah 50c 2s hardcase gforce battery, and I'm thinking of buying another one and just parallel charging it with the one I have now. But I have a question. If I had 2 5000mah batteries and parallel charged them at 10A, and had 2 6000mah batteries and parallel charged those at 10A, would the two 6000mah batteries take longer? If it only takes a couple minutes longer, thats fine, but if it takes considerably longer, then its going to be tough...so does it take considerably longer to parallel charge 2 6000mah batteries at 10A compared to 2 5000mah batteries at 10A?

You're never charging batteries from zero to the packs' capacity, you're only replacing what you've used. In other words, after the first charge on the packs, if when running the car you use 1463mah, your charge time will be that to replace 1463mah regardless if the packs' capacity is 4000mah or 7000mah so a packs' total capacity doesn't really effect charge time unless you're prone to simply drive longer on a larger pack.

Ah okay thanks. I mean I run down to the LVC (which is set to 3.4v per cell) when im just running on the track or bashing. Im sure that with racing, I would be running for a far less amount of time, but I haven't raced yet.

Why does this sound familiar?!?

MarkA is correct in that it will take about the same time to replace the same amount of charge. If they were both used up to the same % level then the 6.0 would obviously take longer than the 5.0 pack. If you wanted them equal then you could parallel a 6 with a 5 on both sides of the charger. Theoretically this would have them done at the same time.

Thanks thats what I will do then...a 6 and a 5.
