Help finding a gear info guide.

Sorry for asking this but I though this might be a good sticky thread. It's been 5 to 7 years since I have really raced but I'm looking for a guide on setting up gearing on motors like the FDR. I just can't remember what to look for anymore. I always just end up asking someone at the track for gear info but I haven't gone in a while to the track.

I'm not to sure what a speed calculator is going to do to help I'm looking for something that should tell me what to look for when picking a pinion for my motor and spur. Also some info like what is the FDR.
