Excess wires on Mamba
I plan on eliminating the red portion of the wiring on my Mamba and only using the wires coming off the brushless motor. This will shorten the wires to merely 2 inches, allowing just a slight slack for twisting of the chassis and such, but eliminate a huge 4 inch loop of extra wires. Plus, the person that had it before me didn't do it as cleanly as I'd like, but I'm an EE so I'm picky.
There aren't any taboo's to this, correct? No wire length rules on the MM or issues facing the three power connections towards the motor and getting them fairly close (I plan on shrink wrapping them once they are plugged in). Nobody have interference issues, glitches, or other oddities using really short wiring before? This is a full size E-revo, MM, and HPI 2650kv. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...0D5DDECBD1.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...1/DSC01923.jpg |

I did the same thing with my daughter's SCTE/MMP system and we haven't had any trouble at all with it. Actually, we've had less trouble. The main reason I shortened them to begin with was to eliminate the exposed wiring where the "loop" kept falling over against the drive shaft. I too try to do a clean installation whenever I build a truck or change out electronics.
It looks like you did a great job with this one! |
Thanks I am done and very happy with the results. :)
