Power problems with hobbywing kit.

I have a Hobbywing 120A esc paired with a 5.5t Brushless Hobbywing motor but i have a recurring problem.

With grip tyres i have full power for about 15sec, then the motor only works at half capacity for maybe 10sec... then the esc cuts out for 3sec... and when it comes back on i have full power again and the cycle repeats. I had the same issue with my last Hobbywing set up. (60A esc / 9T brushless)

I have replaced receiver, as i had heard that can sometimes be the fault... with no luck....

Really starting to annoy me now...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Wes

probably lipo cut off LVC , check cut off , set to 3.0 per cell , if its not this your batteries are not capable of powering a 5.5 brushless .

remove red wire on RX plug from esc.. Install a Ubec.. ur problem will be solved on both esc..U are over taxing esc bec..thats ur issue ONLY..I guarantee this statement..

I believe there are different size ubec, what do you recommend.

I bet that nimh cannot sustain the voltage under the load of that motor.

NiMh will not be able to handle the motor setup. NiMh do not like it when you get over 50 amps of draw. The voltage drops off.. Get yourself a lipo.

Yeah, I had been thinking it may have been the case. Any sugestions for a lipo? No real budget but I dont want to mortgage my car to get it :p
