x-drive

Anybody running novak's new X-Drive speedo's? Is the throttle response really smoother compared to the non x-drive units? Can you feel a big difference?I like Novak's prices and the ease of programming.

best regards

Bump because I'm curious too, thinking of a gtb2 for 17.5 buggy. Im actually most happy they are made in the USA, didn't know anything electronic still was so wanna buy Novak just on that

Local Novak driver says yes, no reason for him to lie to me since I normally beat him with my Orions.:D

I went from a Kinectic to a Havoc Pro SC with X drive and I noticed a good difference in smoothness. My only other benchmark to compare is a Hobbywing "just stock" and this Havoc feels smoother than it.

My feeling exactly.Stick with Novak and you can't go wrong.

They have been providing racers with quality rc car stuff as long as anybody and maby longer.I met Mr. Novak back in the 70's.My dad had a hobby shop and he stopped in.

I have been through Tekin, Hobbywing V3, and a new LRP esc in my SX3 Cat. Bottomb line, they have all been pulled back out and my good old Novak GTB2 goes right back in. They do not give you many of the programming options that some of the high end ESC's do. But programming is very simple, and for the price you cant go wrong.

On dirt, I haven't noticed an X-Drive equipped ESC being any more smooth than it's predecessor. The previous models were all just fine and I'm sure the X-Drive technology is an improvement, but until I get back to carpet racing, I don't think I'll ever notice any differences.

Not saying its a bad thing, its just that the original systems were already pretty smooth, at least on dirt :)

My gtb2 w/xdrive feels pretty smooth. Generally when I let other people drive my car the mention that it feels very smooth and ask what esc I have.
