Default rx8 black fins and red fins

Why do some tekin RX8 have black cooling fins but most have red. Is there a difference between the two.

Older runs have the black fins, newer runs have the red fins... different circuit board in them, but they run the same software and preform the same as each other... red ones are supposed to be a little more durable though.

The red and black speedo are the same as far as the guts only thing is color and case. The black and first red rx8 have a four hole case. The new ones have a three hole case it's made for better durability. Performance wise no different only durability and color

There is no internal difference, just the color. The original Rx8 runs were black so it was an way to indicate age but we've ran some black since then as some like me prefer it.

The biggest think to look for is the newer case. The latest case has only 3 mounting holes.

That's what I thought / knew getting good information is important otherwise people blow money for wrong reasons. If you have a black sink case just run if it goes bad Tekin has a great repair option. I ran the four hole cases for a long time without issues but it's important to mount correctly not directly on the chassis.

Thanks guys, I had a guy tell me the black fin ones were given to team drivers. That just didn't ring true to me. So does the three hole case have a different board?

The op was asking about colored "fins". Apparently everyone missed that.

Apparently you missed every consecutive reply after that explaining why the fins are a different color.
