Ran a 100 minute endurance race today (Chula Vista Race Club CVRC 100) with my 2w SC10 on these 7200 SMC packs. We were almost able to do the entire race on 3 packs. Probably could've if we hadn't pitted a little too early on the first pack. I was also able to get that 1st pack charged back up just in time to run the 3rd leg.
Less pit stops allowed us to finish 2nd just a few seconds ahead of an otherwise faster team that pitted more times. I saw some other teams running SMC packs as well. Very impressed with these race formula packs Danny, I'm a happy customer... No more nanotech for me. |
I ordered a brushed sc10 rtr to race in a spec class. The battery must be a 2s. What battery would best be suited for a stock brushed motor/esc? The longest races would be 10 minutes. Thanks Andy. Does anyone if the sc10 takes a standard size stick pack?

What are the motor limits? 17T? If the motors are limited/slow then it is especially important to get the highest C rating and mah you can afford. This is because you want maximum voltage to reach the esc and motor during the entire race. High C rating ensures less current drop under load (lower internal resistance) and higher mah means it will have more voltage at the end of the race.
You could also try a shorty pack if lightweight is your thing or if the motor struggles to push the weight around the track. It's not as much an impact in SC as a buggy, but it helps. If the motor power isn't a limiting factor then the C rating and mah are less important. |
The motors are limited to any that came in a rtr sc kit. You can mix brands. Most people seem to be running the titan or the stock sc10 motor. Thanks

I ran my SMC batteries again today and run flawlessly. Thanks Danny
