The 4S-6500-60C pack that some of you have been testing is now available for sale on our site.

6560-4S2P

We also have a new 3S-4100-40C in the 2S hardcase for those who bash around and want to go fast.

4140-3S2P

What's the weight of the 3s pack?

The specs show 300g.

Danny/SMC 01-11-2013 01:41 PM

Yes to get the weight you need to click on the packs page on our site then click on specifications.

Danny,

Was very intererested in that 3S pack. Looked at it on the web site. Looked at the specifications page and saw that it was only 25MM high, meaing it would fit where a typical 2S pack would fit.

Then disappointment set in: I looked at the other specs and it said "5000 mAHr" and "2S1P". So I have the feeling that the specs page was copied from another pack's HTML template and the specs cannot be trusted.

Can you let us know when all the specs are accurate for that pack?

Danny/SMC 01-11-2013 02:13 PM

Yes I copy the specs from the 2S-5000-40C pack as the case is the same size and the C rate is the same. I forgot to change the mAh to 4100 and the voltage to 11.1V in the specs but it's now changed.

1/8th guys I need your help. I've been thinking about doing a lower weight pack for 1/8th. Problem I feel is that going to low in mAh will cause to much wear and tear on the pack as the IR will be higher if the cells are smaller.

With the current 4S packs are you guys running the strongest motors ?

Is it easy to make runtime with a 4S ? If so how much left in a 6500 pack after a full race ?

Thanks.

In buggy with medium/high bite and a 1900kv, 4700mah is pushing it for a 10 minute main.

In truggy same conditions with 2000kv, 5300mah is pushing it for a 10 minute main.

By "pushing it" i mean i get barely two more laps after the 10 minute mark, and the pack loses pop after the 9 minute mark (motor temp under 160, pack temp under 110).

I currently use TP G6 5300mah... and interested in trying your 4s packs for comparison. Im glad to see you making a showing in the LiPo market.

Finally got to run the 7200 low IR pack.

Just what I was hoping for. Same punch and speed as my Reedy 6500 and my 7.2lb Mugen SCT conversion didn't puff it after 10 min of running.

I would expect it will improve with more cycles, I only got to use it 3 times tonight between practice and race. Even if it does not get stronger than my $110 Reedy I will be happy as the higher mah and discharge rate seem to take the punishment of my truck better with no downside on power.

Calculated the same IR as the reedy, new pack vs new pack 1.7 & 1.9 (powerlab).

Great job Danny!

Sorry, for the delayed report but I had a great weekend in the Pro4 class at the Novak Off-Road Race at the Plex in Omaha, NE. Tq'ed 3 or 4 rounds and Won the 8min main. Ran the Factory Spec 7200 in the SCT-E all weekend and it was just great.

I also ran 2wd mod buggy with the Factory Spec 4300 Shorty packs and I was super happy with the performance of the batteries, I hadn't ran 2wd buggy in over 3 years and actually only the 3 time that I ran mod so I was pleased with my pace. The track got away from us a little bit but still qual'ed 20 of 50. They ran bump ups but the main was a hammer fest.

Quality batteries make a difference! What Danny is doing at SMC is great. Awesome packs at great prices.

Just a BIIG thumbs up to SMC. If you haven't tried SMC batteries, buy one. You'll be glad you did.

Absolutely, hands down, without hesitation, the very BEST customer service in the market.

Best bang for the buck.

Will your 5600 saddle packs fit in the Kyosho fs2 sp 4wd 1/10 buggy ?

You will be very happy soon as we're opening up SMC UK which will sell direct online at very good prices for the UK. Not possible to be the same price as the US as importation fees are high in the UK but I think we will set a new standard for good prices on high end packs for UK racers.

As soon as the IR issue is resolved packs will be on the way so hang tight.

Packs are already in the hands of BRCA.

This is great news. Like a lot of UK racers I'm starting to look for packs for this coming outdoor season. I'd very much prefer to buy packs from someone who actually understands and tests batteries, and isn't just slapping 'big brand' labels on any old crap.

Any news on when SMC UK will be open and have stock?
