SMC's are cheaper and the connectors fit better than the proteks

predu 01-03-2014 08:21 AM

cheaper is not always better. the balance plug is too short on the smc. i would buy the a main one everytime.

Pittsdriver 01-03-2014 09:34 AM

It says pre order, any idea on when it will be in stock?

any issue charging at slightly below 1C? I am looking at getting at least one of the 6500 race formula lipos, however my current charger only charges up to 6amps. Would I see a loss in performance or any other issues? I would prefer not to buy a new charger anytime soon.

You will be fine. I charge my 6500 an 7200 at 5 amps even though my charger goes up to 6 amps. I've heard from many people that they charge at lower amperage. It's suppose to make the cells last longer but who knows if that is a fact.

ironzgti35 01-03-2014 12:37 PM

I charge on an x4 that only goes to 6amps and run nothing but the 6500's. It may take a little longer but I don't personally have the need to pump 10+amps into the cells to get a faster charge. Good or bad I've had zero issues

godofcable 01-03-2014 01:02 PM

im not a good enough driver to realize the benefit of charging at more than 1C. I charge my 6500's at 6amps. no issues

wiscR56 01-03-2014 05:28 PM

I have the x4 as well. Thanks everyone for the replies. I figured it wouldn't be an issue.
