Any info on when the 10.5T motors are due in?

I am trying to understand this parralel charging thing. do you have to start all the packs at once or can you hook more up as you go. I have zero experience charging like that, I run a hitec x4 right now but it only charges at 6 amps, I want to get something that will charge at a higher rate like the pl6 but even at 2c I would not get all the packs(mine and my kids) charged up in time for the next race.

Look at the 308 Duo then. Dual channels and will do parallel charging like the PL6. I'm actually thinking of getting one and selling my PL6.

Here is a small pic of parallel working on a 4010 duo, these boards are x4 but can be hooked up to each other, ie if you hook to 2 up that's 8 x packs charging off one channel, so 40amps per channel divided by 8, so you could charge 16 5000mah 2s packs at 1c with 4 boards in theory but it would be a headache.

I have found parallel charging to be good at the track or when your in a hurry but I always charge the packs on there own at the end of a race back to storage voltage so I know they're perfectly balanced.

With parralel it's advisable to only charge the same voltage packs on the 1 channel and try to keep your packs within 1000mah of each other, ie if you have a 7200 which is at storage voltage and a 5000 which is flat your good to go but if you do it the other way your just wasting time cause the charger will be trying to equalize them through the balance plug, it just takes time, if there all the same then it's super fast.

Ps icharger 4010 duo is super easy to use, has very accurate IR values so you can see where your packs stand for quality.

Cheers Justin

I was in the same situation as you, that's why I opted for 2 of the Trakpower combos versus the PL6 and parallel charging. From what I can see, parallel charging works great for the guy that wants to charge all of his packs then go run/bash/fly until his packs are dead. Parallel charging doesn't work so well for the racer that runs his qual and then just needs to top off his pack. On any given raceday we're charging 4 2s packs, 2 4s packs, and 2 life packs for the radios if needed.

Inboards. I have a set of balance leads and running leads for each. The running bullets are tight and show nominal wear. I checked voltage this morning and the "gave it up too early" race loser was at 3.79 and 3.82. Been charging @6A for almost 3 hours now... reads 4.19/4.20 and loaded 4900mah. I don't get it.

The PL6 comment lead to an all nighter on chargers and PS. I think I could do those, and a couple of the HP 1200s. Trying to wrap my head around the MPA setup as I run both 2s (SMC) and 4s (TP), and usually have 4 ports going on any given race day.

You have a set for charging and running... are you using the birdcage bullets or solid bullets? Didn't see it mentioned, sorry if you already answered that.

If your running the birdcage spinning bullet things, those are only for charging. Use solid bullets for running.

If you have a inboard pack and have a "lead" for running, I assume that means bullet to deans or other connector to ESC. If that's the case your roughly doubling your connection resistance. Run straight from ESC to sold bullet into the battery.

They should be back in stock by the middle of December.

Best combination is a duo charger and parallel charging as needed. I am typically only charging two battery types at the track (2s pack for SC and 4s pack for 1/8th scale). Duo charger comes in handy for that scenario. When I run two packs together (say 2x2s in a buggy) then I parallel charge them.

Only two rules to remember about parallel charging is the cell count must be the same and the packs need to be at a similar voltage. The degree of difference with the voltage is debatable but most of the airplane guys recommend within .2v per cell.

Also, if you are parallel charging onboard packs remember all the connectors are live when one pack is pluged in. You don't want live bullets flopping around touching each other or other metal. For this reason always unplug the deans/xt60/etc and balance connection on each charge lead first then pull out the bullet connectors.

Check out the website www.smc-racing.net
Almost all packs are now back in stock, the only 2s packs not in stock are the 7200 70c deans and traxxas, 7200 70c inboards are in stock.

I saw that too. I can almost get a 4600 4s for the price of the 7200 2s.

I guess I have to realize the packs were under priced b4 so I'll have to get used to the price increase.

Well lets wait until SMC responds.

So, what was the old price on a 2C/7.4/7200/70C/Deans?
