Pretty sure the Hyperion has a setting for end voltage, I set my powerlab to terminate charge at 8.39v.
Right, if the case is roar approved with a sticker they don't need to check. Just a guess, the non roar packs out there have the same size case as its become an industry standard, its the cells or just the fact that the lipo maker didn't pay for roar approval that leaves the pack without roar approval. Danny said before that the 7200 is at the cases limit and any normal pack swelling that you would have with a 6500 or 5500 or whatever is pushing against the case with the 7200 where the smaller packs do not. So the same thing is going on in there but it is not noticed with the smaller mah packs. |
I'm a little new to Lipo's but, can you tell me which balance plug is used to charge SMC's?
Thanks... |

Thanks... It's the JST-XH connector which is used by most companies and is considered the standard |

Does this ring a bell? Also, do you always charge through the balance board, bypassing the deans connector? Thanks!! |

Thanks guys. I do have the GP/KO connector already, but is that the best way to charge? Is there another way I could connect both the dean's and balance plug?
|
You can not charge through the balance port all that is for is when you do a balance charge it will monitor the cells to make sure they charge evenly.
No matter what charge mode you use the charging will be done through your deans plug, your charger should have a port where a deans plug can be plugged in so you can plug your battery into it. You dont have to hook the balance plug up in order to charge, the only time it will be used is when you do a balance charge. |

NO. They are two separate connections. One is for carrying power and one is for monitoring. |

Which Cellpro charger do you have? You can charge through the balance plug, but you are limited to 4A.
Chevis I can't seem to find anywhere on the charger to accept a deans.... |

Here is a video for your charger, Never seen one that only charges through the balance port. Depending on which cells you get from SMC I would not really reccomend this charger, you really want to be able to charge at at least 1C, this charger while highly sophisticated will only charge at 4 amps which does not get you up to a 1C charge on any of SMC's packs. Danny actually reccomends charging at 2-3C for best performance and longevity of your packs. |
