yes I think im still going to go with the 6500 and high c rate to be safe. A lot of the tracks are supplying power now. so who knows maybe I sell this and get the ac version. I did get a chance to run that 6500 pack again all day in the
4x4 sct it came off at 3.91 and 3.90 and that after 10 minutes.it keeps it punch though the hole race. So im going to be placing another order soon. going to try out those saddle packs for sure. |

I have two of the 6500 70C packs. one is awesome, the other gets to about 7.2V then one cell starts to dump quickly.

If I balance charge it, the second cell always seems to hover at the 4.17-4.19 range. I really cant coplain tho. Ive seen how many times batteries have come in and be sold out in hours from SMC, so one bad cell in one pack out of all of those seems like very good service still. Im not complaining at all. I would definately buy more from him, I plan on gettin a couple of 7200s soon.

Hey Danny whats the charge rate on the 70C race formula 2s batteries? Did a search and thought I saw 6c. Is that correct? I have the cellpro 8 that can pump out 40A, I intend on charging two at a time at 20A each.

When did you get this pack and how many runs did you put on it ? What are you using it in ? |

I got it back in February. Its probably got 10 cycles in a 4wd sc on it before I noticed it happening. My LVC is set at 3.4V/c on a Tekin RX8 Pro4 combo. Since then its been in my Kyosho SCR. It seems to not wanna balance that second cell, so I usually stop it when the charger hits .1A.
I have my custom lvc set to 7.16 or whatever random odd fraction the custom adjusts to. It is a total lvc voltage. May be the issue, you may have over discharged not knowing it thinking you have lvc set to 6.8v... but its not. |
Its on the custom setting so its 6.8V total or the pack.

I was charging a guys pack this past weekend. He was running sc4x4 and his charger only did 5 amps and we only had 4 heats, so I hooked him up with some 10+ amp charging. His cells were out of balance to start with, but my charger worked like a dog for 30 minutes just trying to get them in balance. It got them close, like .012. Is your charger never balancing it or doing it, but taking a long time.
|
It probably sat @ .01A or almost an hour till i stopped it. cells were 4.20 and 4.17

You can send it back to us so we can test it and see what could be the issue. Typically a pack should run for many cycles before having an issue but then again SC 4wd is known to be very hard on packs. The people who make the rules should of allowed the use of 3S or 4S. |
As far as the LVC goes if you run until the LVC kicks in you may want to check the voltage of each cell after you have hit the LVC. If you have it set at 3.4v per cell after the pack hits the LVC the cells should be higher than 3.4v. If they are lower it means your LVC isn't shutting down at the proper voltage. It's always better to measure the voltage and make sure the LVC is cutting off at the proper voltage.
Over discharge is one of the premiere causes of premature pack failure. |
