I say RX8 but the Hobbywing is a much more economical choice.

Note well there seems to be an issue between the latest HW firmware for some ESCs and the TenShock motors. Check the giant HW support thread in Electric Off-Road for details.

There are some issues with using Hobbywing Xerun 150a with TenShock x812 because of the increased number of poles.

I am guessing you prefer a sensored ESC. For a motor with torque like that x812 you might enjoy an ESC with with a current/torque limiter option like the one found in the Tekin RX8 or Castle Mamba Max Pro.

I'm using a 6 pole with a Hobbywing 150a just fine. :)

Going from a Hobbywing SCT Pro esc to a Mamba Max Pro is like going from a Ford Focus to a moped with a dodgey engine! (ESC Smoked count.... 2 * Hobbywings and 17 * Castles, nuff said!)
