What is this (on esc wire)?

Got a HW 150A esc and the rx wire is wrapped around this ceramic disk.

Why? Do I need to keep it?

It's a magnet...supposed to help reduce the possibility of interference. I dont know how many people use them now a days though. Used to see them more frequently back in the crystal/brushed motor days
