Default Castle original Sidewinder 4600 motor wiring question

So I just got into the brushless scene. I bought a slash roller and picked up a cheap used setup to get me going. It works great and takes a beating. However the wiring to the motor has been pulled by a previous owner. What I mean is it looks like someone had their motor wires under tension, the black lead is breaking down where the wires enter the motor.

So a question, are these older castle motors able to be opened up and new wires soldered?

I'm just trying to get by on this setup right now
