When you have the transponder in the car plugged in, if the light is on, it means that it is working.

Since you say the LED is on, most problems are caused by mounting it on metal or cf. If you have it that way, try it mounted on plastic.

You can see if you're getting any output if you tune an AM radio to a blank frequency then pass the transponder over it. The sound of the radio will change.
