Is there a more robust esc than the MMM?

I currently have 2 dead MMM's. One that lets out smoke when you plug in a 3 cell or higher lipo and another than does nothing. I'm going to mail them in for repair, but I'd like to know if there are any other options out there. I like to run 6S in my vehicles.

Maybe the Hobbywing 150A esc. I always hear about how reliable they are.

What sort of load are you putting through them ?

Cheers

6S with probably 100+ amps.

Silver arrow only takes 4s.

I would send the Monsters in and ask that they be upgraded to Extreme spec (Traxxas X01) for a few bucks extra

Xerun 150s are very reliable but not on 6s

Cheers

All it has is an addition cap bank and "tailored software" for the xo-1. I need something that's not going to kill itself. Looks like MGM Comp has some nice controllers, but the prices are high.

After they let the smoke out you can not put it back... sending them in is the best plan.

They're getting sent back, but I'm thinking about selling the replacements.

Hobbywing 150A ESC's. Especially now that they have the Waterproof editions. Those ESC's are bombproof.

Is there a WP 150A 6S version?

Run a cap pack (or make your own) and always use a BEC. I've yet to burn a MMM and I've run 6S all day long/ and I'm talking max amps and TP only 5k Mah or higher only. And have never had any problems.

They also have 300 amp rated updated FET's

As suggested run an external bec and you shouldnt have a problem

I've had two HW 150a ESC's fail in a very short time, while I've had no issues with Castle ESC's ever. The reputation of HW as being reliable seems contradictory to my own experience, but that experience only includes the two that have failed for me and that sample size means nothing. I guess it's just luck.
