LRP Pulsar Touch Competition Thread

Just purchased an LRP Pulsar Touch. Trying to update the firmware. Currently the charger shows V146. LRP's website shows a V147, however, I can't get the updated firmware file to take in the charger.

Gone through the software bit, in the firmware download app, but somethings not quite right.

Anybody else have this problem?

Are you charging 3 or 4 cells ? I only charge 1 & 2 cell batteries, but I downloaded the 1.47 update. I will try downloading it this weekend if no one else has an answer. The 1.47 only addresses 3 & 4cell calibration.

charging question

I just bought this charger. Can I charge my Reedy (Shorty Battery Pack 65C (7.4V/4100mAh) at 8.2 volts or higher? I understand the Pro-Tek batteries will handle charging at twice the voltage but will the Reedy's? Can I charge at 12 volts without damage? From what i have "heard" from the Asscoiated guys is that Pro-tek's and Reedys are the same battery/company. Thanks for your time in advance.

Amps, not volts. a 2s pack is always 7.4 volts nominal.

As per Reedy's website: Max. Charge Current: 8.2A (2C)

Yes...you are right. I am always getting it mixed up. So I can charge to 8.2A. Thanks.

Software?

I am considering this charger due to it's 20A discgarge and the LRP website saying it has USB for data download. I've downloaded the software and I see the firmware update software, but I don't see any data tracking/download software.

I want to graph and compare multiple packs under a high discharge load, but I don't see what the LRP software looks like. Is anybody using this feature?

Thanks,

Does this charger have a built in balancer or do you have to buy a separate one? If so which one would you recommend? I see that lrp makes one, but is that the best option.

Yes. I can't update the firmware on mine either. I can't remember the error message.

Version 147 improves voltage calibration for 3 & 4 Cell charging, I only run 1 & 2 cell so I have not tried the update. I will try next chance I get.
