Unless my memory failed me I remember that a Spektrum SM3001 was a transmitter module. All Spektrum Surface Receivers are designated SR, get it, SURFACE RECEIVER = SR.

SM meant Surface Module.

There is only one SR3100 and that's their DSM2 Receiver also in DSM2 is their SR3520.

Here's their line up of car/truck receivers: http://www.spektrumrc.com/DSM/Produc...Receivers.aspx

Maybe you are confusing it with their Marine receivers but those are designated as MR for, you guessed it, MARINE Receiver.

Both are the same, but SM3001 from "DSM 3-Channel Pro Series Surface Module/Rx"

See, I knew my memory was bad. I forgot that SM was the module set. However, there is no SM3100 just SM3000 or SM3001 whether it was a standard or pro set. (The SM3000 is slower than the SM3001 but both are slower than the SR3100).

This is what I'm running, what's the replacement for these now?

I'm thinking I need the SR3001 RX since they don't make the SM3001 anymore

That is correct. The TX/RX module sets are not readily available anymore, if you can find any.

Since the SM3001 was a part of that set it is unlikely you will find one that isn't on the used market.

The stand alone receiver is the SR3001 Pro and those inventories are drying up as well. The good news is that Horizon has lowered their price: http://www.horizonhobby.com/webapp/w...pe=productgrid
