Yes, cut it off. CC's switches are garbage.

Might also be a good idea to go to a place like Radio Shack and get a good switch.

is there a certain type of switch ? i ask because back in the day i cut one off a evx 2 and soldered on another switch and it blew the esc...dont ask me how as i do not know.

all i know is the wires melted together from the switch and the esc smoked.

Everything I'm aware of just needs the simplest switch, a so called SPST, single pole single throw. Closing the contacts between the two switch wires turns on the ESC. As some have mentioned one can hardwire them together to bypass the switch. (Edit: Might need another switch to completely replace a 3 wire deal with a setup button.)

Which does make your bad experience a little difficult to understand, about all you should be able to do messing with the switch is turn the ESC on. Possibly contacting ground with the wires, while connected to the battery? Or some stray solder? No attacks, just wondering, that is weird.

+ Absolutely. If I can add, even with a working switch it's important to unplug a lipo. Parasitic drain can take them out, its happened to more than a few guys.

wait, why are you cutting it off?

Because the switches that Castle uses are weak. I had one shut off mid-race one.

Also, hardwiring the wires can be a pain in the rear when you get done racing and need to corner marshal. I did that for a while I found it is better to have a new switch instead.

I servo tape mine against the chassis with the switch going left to right. maybe that is why no issues.

Could be.

Never mount the switch with off towards the front or down. The directions that typically take the biggest impacts. Seen about every brand shut off if mounted that way.

Hard wire it, it is going to quit working eventually and you don't want that to happen during or just before a race.

My switch wires broke at the board, can I solder a tab across or should I solder new wires on and then bridge
