Hey guys, it looks like these motors are still in production.
Curiously the "V2" models are discontinued, but the classic can shape is still there.

Does anyone know if this is effectively a "V3" motor along the lines of a reedy sonic M4/M5?
Or are they just continuing to sell the V1? Given that it's been almost a decade since the original came out... is it now at a significant disadvantage compared to a modern motor like Trinity Revtech?

Pretty sure that's still the V1 motor. If you grind off the sensor board tabs so you can rotate it more to get more advance, you can get a little more performance out of it. But compared to a modern 21.5t motor, it's not even close. Trackstar vs Fantom 21.5t Minipro dyno run. Guess which one is the Fantom.

Welp, looks like it's time for a motor upgrade! That difference is HUGE.

Since you have a dyno, have you noticed much difference between that Fantom, and others of a similarly modern vintage? Or even better - Against a spec USGT motor
I wish dyno data like this was more widely available, it'd help separate true value from snake oil so much more easily

Regarding the Turnigy SCT 550 size motors, was there ever a V2 version?
