DX3S Range???

I just bought a used DX3S and a SR3000 receiver. I am having a few issues right off the bat getting this thing to work.

1. I have no reverse most of the time. It will work once in a great while for no apparent reason but, most of the time it does not work.

2. The range is terrible. I would say maybe 25 to 30 yds it cuts out. I have to walk almost right up to the car to get it to connect again. I did rebind it a few times but to no avail.

Just so you know I am a complete noob to RC and spektrum TX/RX so it could be I have set something up wrong. I have this on a sc10 and I never even put the body on while testing. The sr3000 has a 3-4 inch antenna straw on it and maybe another couple of inches of antenna. Thanks for any help getting this running.

Twist any wires carrying any current. This is known to help block interference you might be getting.

Twist the receiver antenna wire? Or tx wires?

Its obviously not working properly send it back.

I can get 200m+ with DX3e and SR300 before it starts to glitch with the antenna wire exposed. No reason you cant get the same if not more. Search youtube 'Spektrum DX3E Range' to see my setup on a Hyper 7.

None of those, wires like your motor wires that connect the motor to the ESC.

Turns out the receiver was not good. I bought a sr300 new and the range is fine but I still have no reverse. Is there some sort of calibration with the esc? Like I said before reverse will work for like a couple of seconds then nothing.

ESC needs to be calibrated to your transmitter, read your ESC manual

Cheers
