Lipo Endurance

Hi guys, is there a 4s battery that will hold up for about 20 to 25 min of racing??, i have a vorza, and currently using sky lipo 5000mah 40c 4s... this one holds up for about 12 to 15 min... thanks!!

MAH = runtime

If you want to double your runtime you will need to double the capacity

Cheers

Thanks for the reply!!, but then again, which one is the highest mah possible 4s battery my vorza will hold?? Any ideas??

Measure the dimensions and compare it to some lipo specs

Cheers

I'm a bit concerned....we run have run 20 minute mains mixing the nitros and the electrics, and the 2 Losi 8ight-e 2.0s were both running Turnigy 5000s, and they were able to do the whole 20 minutes on one pack.... I think they were both running 1700-2000 kv motors and savox servos...

If you are only getting 12-15 minutes, then I'm suspecting something binding up in your drivetrain, or the battery is nearing the end of it's life....

It depends on the driver too though along with what kv the motor is.

A really good example is my VTA racing. When I started I was alot more aggressive with the throttle and would routinely pull 1200+ mah out in a 6 min race. After I got some more experience I now am pulling around 650-750 for the same period.

A similiar thing can be said for motor selection. A lower kv motor will generally be easier on mah over a race. I run a 2200kv and if I swapped to a 1700 or so I would get longer run times. I wouldn't have the same punch/speed combo but it would be able to run longer.

Another alternative is go to 5s 5000mah packs and dial back your end points. This should give you a little more run time.

Do what most of us do unless you're stuck with using only a 4S which is to motor down and volt up.

A 5S or 6S with a 1400 to 1900kv motor will run cooler and longer than with a 4S.

I'll use a 4S 5000mah for short 5 to 10 minute races and switch to a 5S 5000mah for 20 minute races (of course you have to change the LVC and gearing) with the same 1900kv motor..

i really have to stick with the 4s, we where doing 10min racing, but now changed to 20min... im easy with the throttle, in a 38sec lap i only use 7sec of full throttle, the rest are corners, small jumps an a big jump that doesnt require a lot ( i use a 17 pinion )... also a BEC,a transponder and a high speed/torque servo.. i dont know if that takes too much amps..., the rest is standard 2200kv, standard esc.

As i was browsing i saw that at maxamps.com they have this 6500 4s lipo that is supposed to last 26min... anyone had any experience with it??... if anything works ill go with the 11000mAh 4s 40C  !! , i think ill reach the 20 min with that!!

it should be " if nothing works " :o ( not from u.s. )

That 2200 can is a Big part of the Problem ;)

1900 Tekin and you'll be much better off in the Mah per min Dept.

VORZpy 05-19-2012 09:41 AM

:ha: ill make a test with a friends ve8 with that motor, and my lipos then... thnks a lot!!
