Turnigy Nano-Tech Batteries
 

I'm thinking about getting a Turnigy Nano-Tech 5300Mah 2S battery. Do you guys like the nano-tech batteries or what do you think of them.

Are JST and JST-XH the same type of plug?

Dude, look around, use the search and just type in Nano-tech...theres tons of threads about them, comparing them...YES they are great batteries, and not just for the money. Most will agree that they are better than gens ace and many out there and now their are some in stock in the USA so thats even better.. As for the plug, yes they are the same, pretty much standard.

I have 6 of the 5600mah and wouldn't run anything else! Best for the money, only issues I've had is with a balancer harness shorting , out just had to swap them. Run the Losi 2s Lipo harness as it has actual bullets not the banana connectors.

Have used both a 3s nanotec and a 2s and they are my best batteries I own. Haven't run enough cycles through them, but some people say they start to puff at around 50 cycles. Only time will tell, till then I'd say they are great batteries. If they do (which i doubt they will) I'll pick up some gens ace too.

I have 4-6s 45c-90c 5000mah, 4-3s 35c-70c 5000mah, and 4-2s 50c-100c hardcase 5600mah.

The 6s packs are abused in a high speed continuous nascar style track. They continue to perform great, as well as all the other packs!

You'll like the NanoTechs.

The JST plug is the tiny red plug that used for low power connection to a battery.
The JST-HX is a type of balance plug used for lipos.

i just got 2 of the 6000 65c packs and both puffed on their first run out. Called hobbyking told me since i ran them no warranty. So i got some new paperweights. Going to be purchasing some throttle workx packs in the coming week.

I have about 25 6600 and 6000 batteries. Buy at least the 6000 batteries, they are same size as 5300 and get longer run times. Out of the 25 batteries I have only had a couple puff. Puffing is cause by many things, and its not the batteries problem. They don't puff enough to be unusable, and they work just fine after they puff. Considering it would cost me at least $150 to get the same battery as a $50 hobby king. I'll gladly take a few puffed batteries. I use the 65c-130c batteries.

Btw with 2 6600 nanotechs I get over 25 minute run time on my 1/8 scale. I have yet to have a main i couldn't have full power through the entire thing.

If you puffed those on one run I doubt if any battery will hold up.

Nano-techs are currently my favorite lipos. I was a gens ace fan until I was having broken connections with a lot of them so I stop using/buying them (over half my gens ace died, about 6). Since I went to nano-techs I haven't had any issues. I feel Nano-tech's are soldered better and they are a better quality lipo. Best lipos for the $$$ IMO :nod:.

I've been using nano techs the 6600s for about a year now and they have been reliable. Out here in AZ I've seen a few of them puff up in the summer but track temps can be 125 degrees so it's no biggie but only had one failure totally my fault when I squeezed a puffed up pack and it popped the cell. Started some fire works to say the least lol

I'm running Nano-Tech 5100mAh saddles in my DEX410 and A-Spec 4200 shorties in my B5m. My cars are equipped with motors 5.5 to 7.5, running on high traction surface.
Both are great batteries, just as good as - or even better than - some of the big names, IMHO

I had to switch to shorty packs in my new 1/10 scale rides and ended up getting 4 of the Nano-tech Ultimate 4600 90C packs. I haven't used them yet...waiting on a few things before I can get out to practice. One nice thing is they give you a set of male 5MM bullet plugs that you can solder to your ESC. The other interesting feature they have is that the female sockets in the batteries themselves go the whole way through the pack, so you can flip the batteries over if you would rather have the + or - on a different side of the car.
