Gear Combo - What is the Difference?

24/78 is an FDR of 8.45 (in an SC10)
25/81 is an FDR of 8.42

Practically the same FDR. So is there some advantage to runing one combo over the other?

smaller spur moves the motor forward, changing the weight balance of the car/truck
