I too would like to know. In Australia, we have Sate and National titles coming up and I can not find it on any ROAR listing. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Exclamation Roar Listing / Application

For those interested in using the V3 in stock classes.
I sent an email to Hobbywing asking if the V3 was ROAR approved.
I've recieved an email back from Hobbywing today stating,

"We have provided samples to ROAR , but haven't got the final approval yet."

So Hobbywing has done their bit to get this ESC approved, now we sit and wait for the approval process by ROAR.

Thanks Hobbywing.

And I hope this helps others.

I've done 1 club day and 3 testing days with the V3 now, by far the best ESC I've ever used, I am really loving it
The power delivery is super smooth! The brakes are really really god too, I have never felt brakes so powerful

Off the top of my head my settings are as follows;

Motor: LRP 5.5t X12 Octa
FDR: 7.56
Punch: 15 / 15, Linear, Switch point 50%
Brake: 20/20, switch point 50%, Drag brake 15%, Max brake 82.5%,
Boost: 24, Start 17,500RPM, End 27,500RPM, Custom curve
Turbo: 35, Full throttle only, Delay 0.3s

Data Log: ESC 92c, Motor 61c, Max RPM 55,000~

What are people finding in terms of the ESC/motor temps? Normally the LRP motors like to run hot, but with various gearing and ESC setting changes the temperatures I'm getting don't change too much. The ESC is driving the X12 well though

I have it disconnected for now just while I'm testing the car, but want it connected with lower speed to be more quiet so I can ear the birds in the forest
Regards!
Put a resistor on the fan?

Looking for advice on new ESC at the moment I have tekin rs for 17.5 boosted, but now i want to drive more modified and my tekin does not supprot less turns than 7.5. Now I am looking at 3 different ESC, Hobbywind v3, tekin RS pro, speed passion Reventon Pro. For the moment seems that HW v3 is best option, because there is many good feedback. Also what brand motor is best for this ESC for large carpet and asphalt tracks? 4.0, 4.5, LRP, Orion, Dualsky etc. I gave GM 5.5 but it is to slow for me. I am driving HB TCX chasis. Thanks.

For ROAR approval as a sportsman esc it needs to have a no-timing mode ("blinky"). The racer that has one at our local track does not believe that it exists in the current software or he could not find it if it does. Any help?

Yes it does, it is profile 2 - No timing - for no timing Blinky classes

Suggest you to tell the racer at your club to look in his instructions

Or you can just set boost and turbo timing to 0 and it automatically enters blinky mode.

+1 for roar approval info. Would like to use my v3 at paved nats.

The manual describes a thermal failsafe. It won't allow you to turn off via the on/off button if the ESC gets hot. Best to leave the car on while the esc fan cools the ESC down for a bit. And don't force quit it by pulling the battery lead before the ESC gets a chance to cool down....
