sr300 glitch

Hey guys, I posted this once already but didn't see it so I'll post again.
MMP 1410 4Pole, savox 1256tg, sr300. Trying to center my servo and sr300 is glitching. I had the resolution set at 5.5ms and the receiver was blinking randomly as well as the motor would spool on its own. For troubleshooting I installed a non digital Hitec servo and bumped the resolution up to 16.5ms and everything was fine. What am I missing here? I don't think I should need a bec for one servo should I? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jay.

this is a very common problem with people using savox with spektrum recievers  it can be very annoying if its happening to you, something like this should help

Dont bother with a silly glitch buster cap

Fit an external bec and be done with it

Cheers

5.5ms isn't supported on DSM receivers like the SR300. Set it to 11ms or upgrade to a DSM2 receiver.

What's happening is that this servo is pulling more amps than the ESC can provide when the motor is accelerating thus causing the receiver to drop below its voltage threshold and lose contact with the transmitter.

A cheap fix is the receiver cap, a better fix is a stronger BEC and it doesn't matter how many servos but rather how much power they demand.

Shhh... Don't tell my SR300 that it doesn't like 5.5ms.

Thanks for the replies. I'll add a 10a bec. I do remember reading that the sr300 didn't support 16.5, I'm a noob, (obviously), so I'll run the sr300 at 11ms to start with...I do plan on racing my new FT though, so that might change.

Sorry to bring this back up but did the 10a work? And how do you change the resolution?

jayrat 08-15-2012 07:57 PM

Yes, indeed. The CC 10a bec worked like a charm! As far as the resolution goes, that is changed via the transmitter...hope this helps.

Jay.

Alright, thanks
